system restore

on xp,system restore only works on current month,will not acctivate previous months,why??.

I am mainly using Win ME, but as far as I know, System Restore keeps as many points as the allocated space will allow, and then starts overwriting the oldest points. If you need to save older restore points you will need to increase space available. I don't thin it is sensitive to date/time in this way unless there is more to it in XP. You could lose older points if you are doing something (adding programs) that creates extra restore points.

You are right.
you can either set it on a task scheduler
or let win xp make its own xp restore points.
Be warned it makes them every time you remove a program and all sorts of other little things
