im looking for a free programme i can download that will give me all the information about my computer. i am running vista. please does anyone know any good software?

You actually have such a facility with Windows - it's called System Information..:-)

Start>Progrms>Accessories>System Tools>System Information.

The motherboard is usually listed as System Manufacturer and System Model.

I have been a big fan of Belarc for some time. Recently, I ran across PC Wizard click here and it is excellent. If you wish, you can just unzip the download and run it without any installation. It works fine with or without installation. Very highly recommended.

I also recommend PC Wizard 2007. Fully Vista compatible and works with the aero theme.
