Could someone please explain why
System Idle Process... System
alternates between 70-95 using only 16k

CPU seems normal between 4-15%

Im just curious as my system is functioning as good as ever with no problems to date.

XP Home SP2 with Zonealarm Firewall and AVG AV

Regularly run with updates

EWido
Spybot
Adaware
Defender
Ccleaner
Regscrubxp

Thankyou for any feedback in advance

My system idle process is fluctuates between 50/99 mostly it stops arund the 95 mark, this is normal as it will only go down as it is used so with 95 not a lot of processes are using the pc recources.

Cheers Acolyte......Just needed to be reassured as this has always bugged me without understanding why so high.Like i said,it dosnt affect my system performance in any way.

The clue is in the word "idle" - it means that the system is not doing anything with (in your example) 70 - 95% of its resources i.e. that amount of the system is available for use.
