System Clock Stopped

  kalymna 11:29 20 Feb 2004

I had been getting periodic episodes on booting where my system clock had apparently been reset and various system settings had changed.
I suspected the battery and replaced it.
I now find that, while all other system settings are retained in the BIOS, the system clock appears to have stopped completely at the last shutdown.
Any advice would be appreciated.

If there is a field in the BIOS which allows you to set the date and time, set it there.
It is just possible that the present setting is locked somehow.

The fact that the other settings are retained during off periods, shows the battery etc. is working
