synaptics mouse pad on my laptop

dear all,

is there a utility that i can download for my touch pad that would allow me to use the right side of the pad to scroll up and down. currently i cannot do that. its is invaluable when in office applications (and others) to hold CTRL and scroll for zooming in and out.

If you cannot do it now, then you cannot do it. I assume that you have the latest driver and that you have examined its settings. You don't state what Synaptics model you use.

That model has scrolling support (application dependent) but you are way behind with your driver revision.

you have the lates driver, i am not 100% sure it will work but go on control panel and then mouse and look for the gestures tab and there should be a box to tick so that u can use 1 side of a scroll.
I have dont the same on my laptop but my laptops has an alps touchpad so i cant be sure it will be ther for you.
best of luck

That is not the latest driver - it's in series 8 at the moment, and has been since Nov `05. click here
