Switching Off the Router

New to router using and can find no reference anywhere as to whether to switch off when not using or leave it on.
What do others do please?

Seem to have mastered the installation but don't know the answer to the easy question.

I assume it's optional.

If you switch your PC off that is the time to switch your router off. There is no benefit in leaving it on, apart from increasing the size of your carbon footprint;-)

As Pine Man says, except, I switch mine off when I know I wont be using it for a couple of hours.

Thanks Pine Man and MAJ

I thought that would be the answer but it's one of those things nobody mentions.

Curiously, I can't find the wattage anywhere but it gets quite warm so must use a few.

So, I will switch it off when I don't need it but if I forget, I won't lose sleep over it.

Thanks again.
