Switch user

I have different profiles on my laptop to separate
different aspects of my work. Previously, I could Click Start, Log off and in the resulting dialogue box, click Switch User to immediately get to the welcome screen listing the different profiles. Now clicking on Switch User doesn't do anything. So I have to choose Log off which take me to Logging off from Windows etc before showing the welcome screen.
Any way I can switch on Switch User?

Could be a problem with your security software.
Some firewalls would not work unless you log off, then log on again as a new user.
I never use the Swich User facility because of this problem.

In services.msc are Fast User Switching and Terminal Services both set to manual and started?

There is a fix here, number 34 left hand side, which may work.

If you have increased the number of users lately, maybe need to increase your page file size if you're switching often between accounts

Notwithstanding your problem, the quickest way to switch user is to hit the Windows key + L and that also takes you straight to the Welcome screen

Your services.msc solution was spot on.
Thanks a lot
And thanks to all the others for their suggestions
