Hi There,

I have XP Pro on my old computer. When I build my new one can I switch that drive to my new computer. I know that you can't use XP Pro on two computers. But will this switch work.

Please let me know.

Thanks

Henry

I'm pretty sure that you'll be asked to activate Windows, the activation is (predominately) linked to your motherboard, and MS say if you change your mobo then your copy of Windows is invalid.

bythor,

Okay, I didn't know that really. So I'll have to buy another copy of XP Pro. What a waste of money.

Thanks

Apparently if your mobo had actually failed, MS might look at it differently...if you have the December issue of PCA yet, there's a bit in 'readers letters', in fact the star letter no less!

I'll try that. I'll make a Clone first in case something goes wrong.

bythor,

PCA December Issue - Yes I have, just arrived. I have a read.

I think I won't take that risk incase it effects my new mobo.

Thanks
