Swapping Microsoft office from one pc to another

Can I swap a valid copy of Microsoft office from a pc where I will uninstall it (the kids will continue to use pc for internet and games) onto a new pc that I buy?

Yes if its's a retail copy; if it's oem and came preinstalled then I'm not so sure.

Do you have install disk?

Yes it was retail and I have the install disk.
Do I need to do anything special with registration or microsoft update?

You may need to re-register it, see if it asks you to.

will depend on the version. If you're prompted to activate online you might be asked to contact a Microsoft validation desk. There'll be no problem, just exlain what you've done and they'll generate a new activation key for you - enter that in the boxes provided, and that's it.

It's always worth a look at OfficeUpdate to get the necessary updates available for your version of Office.
