svchost.exe causing cpu to peak at 98%

hi
i am running win xp pro . i have just noticed when i booted up the pc was responding , under task manager this thread was causing the issue under network services.

if i end the process the pc would respond normally.

i booted up again but this time i did not end the process.it took over 2 and half minutes b4 it was end on it own....

please someone help me how to end this once and for all...

A bootup, svchost.exe is very busy loading up all the programs ready for you to use. That is the reason it is working so hard at that time.

If you want to reduce the booting time, reduce the number of programs you have running at startup.

the pc is responding normally without touching the setting !!!!

strange!!!!but i have shorten the list of programs which were running on startup.
