Suitable graphics card for digital editing?

Please advise whether digital video editing needs a specialised video card for decent results and, if so, which is recommended. Many thanks for any help.

I've been dv editing for a couple of years and never got round to getting a decent one, I just use the onboard one. You can allocate more ram via bios.

As with Michelle, I use nothing special (a 3 year old Geforce MX with 32MB memory) which is fine for my uses (editing home video). Any modern video card should be fine.

Many thanks for taking the time.
