I have Spybot, Bazooka scanner and spyware blaster + couple of days ago I could here the internal modem clicking in and out but there is no phoneline connected cos i am on broadband. So done several searches with the above but found nothing.

VOG. went to symantec site as you suggested and run online virus detection and it found ten infected restore points and two others, so I have disabled restore and am now left with trying to remove the following.
C:\WINDOWS\70000041.exe is infected with Downloader.Trogan and C:\WINDOWS\system32\Isacfg\4011.exe is infected with Bloodhound.packed. AVG still not working and dont have symantec. Can you suggest step by step removal please.
