Streaming video won't come down

Tried youtube and several other tubes, very little will play. Reinstalled flash player, no effect. Turned off my firewall, no effect.

I'm using a NetGear router with built in firewall. It's set to allow anything/always so shouldn't be blocking, but it might be.

I can't find out what ports to open for streaming video.

I also need to know how to set McAffee firewall to allow access to the net?

Can anyone help.

I don`t think the Netgear router can be the problem: I have one and access YouTube videos OK.

Never having used McAfee firewall, I cannot comment. I use ZoneAlarm pro which has been set not to block YouTube.

The plot thickens. Youtube videos come down OK on my son's laptop which is connected to the same router. I've turned off the McAfee firewall but it didn't help.

So it's something in my PC causing the problem, but what?

Network connections weren't set up properly.

Went to Control Panel, Add/Remove, Windows Connections and checked everything concerned with Networks.

Suddenly the PC saw the router and things started to work lightening fast.

I'd gone there to delete the windows Firewall as I thought this was the problem, no option to remove it so it's still there but disabled, I hope.
