Streaming Audio

  Baffled1 10:01 31 May 2004

I have two machines connected thro the same netgear router to ADSL.When i listened last night to an audio feed on my PC (AMD64,XP SP1,ASUS K8V deluxe m/b,512MB ram etc )the sound was broken.Statistics in WMP 9 showed quality as 60 percent.
Running my Dell latitude laptop(Win 2000,600 MHZ ) with WMP 7 the sound was perfect and quality stats showed 100 percent...both machines running at same time on same feed).
Both players are set the same as far as possible ie buffering set to default, connection speed set for DSL etc. Both recognised the I/c feed as 12Kbits/s.
The PC uses onboard Lan connector and the Dell has a Xircom ethernet card.
Is my problem (not a one off)to do with the bridge connections that show up in network connections in XP.Any other ideas? Thanks.
