I, like quite a few people have a Hotmail e-mail account. I received an e-mail from a friend this evening which said this:-

Now the thing is that I did not send my friend this e-mail with the "mulitpart1" attachment. I've checked my Hotmail sent messages box and nothing is in there to say a message has been sent. I keep my anti-virus software up to date and I did a complete virus check this evening and nothing appeared. So how could she have got this mail from me?

Thanks

Amber

(PS I've abbreviated our hotmail addresses. You never know who's out there!!)

it may be the attachment was zapped by the filter software (spam killer)

Someone seams to have hijacked your e-mail address.

Basicly they are using your e-mail address to send messages from your account. If you have used a public computer to access your hotmail account then someone could have got your apsswrod.

This happened to me and I had to change my e-mail address.

If someone has hijacked my hotmail e-mail address would they have access to my address book as well? Nothing appeared in my sent messages box to say that I had sent the message.

I have long since fallen out with Hotmail. It's become a menace for a number of reasons! I have it blocked entirely now.

You won't have the virus, one of your contacts will. Assuming your antivirus is up to date then a friend of yours, with your email address in their address book, will be infected.

Thanks for your posts. It now makes sense.
