Download, update and run "Adaware", "Spybot Search and Destroy" and "SpywareBlaster", that should clear most stuff. Also try running a Popup Stopper.

Try spybot click here which gets rid of most things. If it doesn't work, post back with more details (of the web addresses).

Download and install the adult (or both) hosts files. click here

In Win95/98/Me drop the text file into C:\windows with no file extension (i.e. "hosts" as the full name)

Not Sure about XP, but search for "Hosts" and you should find it's location.

It won't stop the pop-ups from opening, but it'll stop a lot of the pictures from loading.

Hmm

I had a lot of trouble from Hosts files recently, being unable to log on to microsoft and mcafee for examole. Be careful!

If you get a site that won't load after you install the files, just open the HOSTS file in notepad, or Word, search for the domain name eg. "pcadvisor" and delete the entry with the site you want on.

If you got the hosts file from the site I posted above, the last version had some mistakes in it, where some sites were accidentally blocked, the file has now been changed to what it should be.

(How do you get the "™"?)

It may be an idea to inform your friend that blindness will almost certainly ensue.

Excellent - I'm using a Braille keyboard.

Ironman - look at the Character Mat - Start, Progreams etc. Or cut and paste
