i still want the program/progams to run at startup, i just dont want it to tell me that its starting to run. steve.

you can normally right click the programme in the task bar and select properties and uncheck the box that says "show splash screen at start up" or words to that effect

i meant system tray(the one in the bottom right hand corner)

if you really need these progs to run at startup then leave them alone.but to save on resources, deselect them and then load them as you need them.

Unfortunately the program writers did not think of adding the check box. So I’m down to doing some editing or sending an e-mail to the company and asking them but as its free advertising for them I think they will be unhelpful. Steve.

A possible solution would be to "Disabled Sync Negotiation" for the device in question.

If that does not resolve the issue, then set "Include in BIOS Scan" to "Disable".

Also, double check the "SCSI Disk Utility" option to make sure all the devices are seen.

The "SCSI Disk Utility" is a hardware level communication and if the devices are not being seen and/or the SCSI Disk Utility locks up, you know then there is a hardware level issue.
