Stop some auto updates

Hi, I have some updates that keep failing (KB947319 & KB972688). How can I stop these from trying to install/update?

As the 1st one is a security update I wouldn't recommended stopping it at first.

I would suggest downloading them & attempting to install them manually - here are the links:

KB972688 click here

Install each whilst Office is NOT running. G

Install each whilst Office, or any of its components, are NOT running. G

Remove them manually.Click on the little box with the tick on it and another box will open underneath.Just tick the little square for don't show this update again and that would normally be that.
But I have noticed recently I have done that with the Silverlight download and each time I do a manual scan it is back.
Whether it does it with any other download I am not sure.
Just Microsoft trying to push Silverlight or whatever you call it on to users that do not want it.

Thanks Crossbow. The junk filter will not apply!
(Update for Microsoft Office Outlook 2003 Junk Email Filter) I dont use outlook for email, web mail better. The KB947319 might have installed....will check later on.

Nope, just tried to install KB947319 & it just pops up "The update cannot be applied"!
Any ideas on how to fix this? I have office 2003 sp3 on xp home. Never had probs with ms updates before!

Try the steps at click here.

Create a System Restore point (click here) before attempting. G

Looks like some others are having the same problem too.

An Office 'repair' appears to have helped some.

If no joy, a long list of ideas to work through at click here.

And perhaps consider a Microsoft support incident request as a last resort - idea taken from click here. G

For info, would not repair. Ended up uninstall & reinstall to fix. All OK now after massive updates!
