Stop MSN Messenger 7.0 at Startup

Hi Guys,

Win 98 se

I want to launch MSN Messenger when I want to not at start up. How do I stop it launching at startup.

I have IE in C:\Windows\Start Menu\Programs\Startup But cannot find what is used to Launch Msn Messenger.

not to sure about 98 the memory is going but see if you can go start - run then type msconfig and press the enter key. Then look for the startup tab at the top. You will see names of progs with a tick in the box on the left. Find messenger and click to remove the tick then reboot. Put a tick in the box not to be told again and that is that.

In MSN Messenger, Tools | Options, General. Untick 'Automatically run Messenger when I log on to Windows'.

VoG™ yes that's the way to do it. I have the option of launching when I want and closing to the Taskbar still gives me Email warnings.

Startup time reduced by 1min 30sec. Result
