I was trawling through some old newspaper cuttings and sadly one particularly interesting one had been torn in two!How can I stitch the two scanned images together where the join between them is not straight?
Use copy for one image and then paste it into another image. If that is not clear - what prog do you use for photo manipulation?
I would do it using layers. Making the surplus parts transparent.Back in the days before computer photo work we used to prefer non-straight edges for creating montages. Curved edges not jagged torn ones though.
When you stitch a image they should overlap
As there is no way you could stitch edge to edge
I think Woolwell is right regarding layers. I need to remove the background. The problem at the moment is that the white background is part of the image, so overlapping just won't work.
Tell you what, post both images hear you can only post one at once and put the links hear. I will stitch them and post them back to site click here
The images are a bit large for tinypics. I'll just resize them
You should be able to make the white background transparent on one of the images.
There you go:-click hereandclick here
Very quick, without any real editing or refining, and done using layers in Serif PhotoPlus click here
