Startup Problem

Can anybody help? In startup I get the following message.
"WARNING CPU has been changed, or CPU ratio changed fail.
Please re-enter CPU settings in the CMOS set-up and remember to save before quit"

I also have the choice to press F1 to ignore this and continue.

I dont want to mess about in the BIOS until I can understand what to do. Any ideas, please?(WXP Prof Edition)

Has been known to be related to bad memory
click here the link will help with that.
Usualy as it is a bios related error and not a windows error resetting the bios as per MOBO manufacturers instructions may solve the problem.

If you have a mother board manual, (if you dont have one, get one) pulling the onboard battery out for about 30 minutes, this will cause the bios to go back to the default settings!

If you have a manual, you will notice on the board diagram that there are three pins. On some boards its called the CMOS RAM clear sector!
Pins 1 & 2 are normal mode and pins 2 & 3 will Clear the CMOS (BIOS)!
Most boards are shipped with with pins 2 & 3 jumpered.
