starting adobe automatically in outlook

Do you know of any way in which I can get Adobe to open automatically when I'm in outlook? All my PDF files come in as something weird and I have to save them as PDF's before I can open them…. And it's driving me mad!

we use office 2000pro

Is the "something weird" always the same extension? If so, you can set up a file association (start>control panel>folder options>file types) so that that file extension will always open using Adobe.
