is 62 seconds fast or slow from power-up through to user login screen. done tick boxes in msconfig for startup programs.

Depends if you are running WIN.3.1 or a snide version of Longhorn.

[edit] obviously 3.1 doesn't have msconfig but more info is needed.

using win xp home on athlon 2000+ with 512ram and os on a 20gig hdd with 80gig second hdd. floppy disconnected.

Sixty seconds on XP is not unusual, however Microsoft released Bootvis a while ago BUT called it back as its a developers tool. click here if you want to run it, you will need to understand how it works first as it needs reboots and ticks in the right boxes as it optimises the system.
