  Den 19:27 04 Nov 2005

Just installed Windows XP in upgraded PC ( ASUS A8N-SLI Deluxe M/B, SATA drive, 128MB ASUS graphics card ). When the 'turn off computer' is clicked on, the 'Stanby box'is greyed out. So cannot go into standby or hibernate condition. No option to set up hibernate under the 'Screen saver' tab either. Help !!

Start, Control Panel, Power Options, Hibernate tab and tick Enable hibernation.

If you haven't done any of the following then

Install the Motherboard Chipset Driver
Install your Graphics Card Drivers

Also make sure WinXP Service Pack 1 is installed
If the machine is a large branded model like HP, Dell or P.Bell then also let me/us know.
