Can anyone give advice on Spywareblaster in operation

When I go to open it from the desktop it gives a message program loading and the blue progression bar fills.

Is this right? As a protection I thought that it would be running at computer start up up.

yes it should be running in the background unseen

From the Spywareblaster site:

Unlike other programs, SpywareBlaster does not have to remain running in the background.

No - it works by preventing spyware from registering itself in the registry. It doesn't need to run continuously. You only need to run it occasionally to check for updates.

It is running from start up, the bar is just checking what is loaded, the only time I open it is to check for updates and it is just loading what protection is installed before checking for updates.

I think that you have the old version of SpywareBlaster. The latest version is a green progression bar when loading, which is normal.

It's running in the background,so everything sounds okay.
