spyware problem

Spybot detects and removes Coolwwwsearch.WCADW but it keeps reappearing. How do i remove it permanently. Running xp.

No, it's still reappearing. Sorry for the delay in coming back, i've been trying to sort out some personal problems.

When you say "It's still reappearing", do you mean it's still active, or that Spybot says it's still there.

I can find links that indicate Spybot will continue to detect this particular nasty even if its been successfully removed- it depends on what your Homepage is set to.

Here's a link that provides a solution click here, but involves HijackThis.

If you understand what their on about, you can run HijackThis and fix it yourself.

Alternatively you can get HijackThis from here click here

There's no install necessary, just create a folder for it, say, Program Files\HijackThis, and copy the .exe file to this location.

Run the program and save the resulting log.

Post the log to this specialist forum and they'll get you sorted click here

Spybot says it's still there.

have you xp and if so have you tried with system restore disabled?
