Spyware advertises antispyware

Has anyone else experienced what seems to me to be a spyware program which keeps telling me I am infected with spyware and then recommends buying three anti spyware programs?
One is called PSGuard, another Spy Trooper and World Anti spy.

I have scanned my computer with two reputable anti vius programs AVG and Avast as well as AdAware and Spybot, all full scans and there appear to be no 'nasties' at all.

These new pop-ups are designed to look just like Microsoft Security warnings, but I am very suspicious of them.
Also, I cannot yet find how to get rid of them.
Any comments and help wd be much appreciated

Such sales methods have been around in this form, which I've always claimed is a scam, for some time now.

No, I disabled Messenger years ago! Wretched thing... I am now getting warnings about Trojans every time I go online, but I am still very suspicious as my present anti everything programs have served me well for some years now.

I presume you'be been updating spybot & ad-aware on a regular basis? Also check in add/remove programms to see if any nasty has installed.

These are all rogue programs click here

Please note that Messenger Service is not the same as Windows Messenger.

Stuartli, I agree, such "sales techniques" are a scam.

Thanks for the info, especially VoG as I see that I do indeed have rogue spyware peogs as I suspected. I have run all my own cleanups and I keep them daily up to date but I still cannot find these rogues nor get rid of them. I am getting a popup XP type window down on the right hand side of the toolbar about every minute saying System Alert: Spyware detected with a blinking triangular alert sign with an exclamation mark inside it. I guess I am not over worried but very irritated.

Grateful thanks to VoG for putting me onto the website. I have bought Xoftspy which has certainly cleaned my machine of most of the nasties, in particular the browser hijack. However, I still have a thing which seems to come from search2k.net and it puts up a lot of irritating pop-ups. Every ten seconds I have a yellow System Alert warning down on the right hand side off the task bar, which is driving me nuts. I consider myself a fairly experienced user, but I cannot trace this thing.
