Whilst I'm getting a bit more confident about changing stuff, I didn't know what to do about the list in spybots system internals.there is a lot of things that have the following next to them: 'wrong app path' 'missing shared DLL' 'missing help file''wrong uninstall info''start up file does not exist'(they all only have one of these quotes) I deleted them and then chickened out and went back to the restore point. generally can they all be deleted without any problems or would you need to knowwhat each item was?
i have always deleted all that spy bot found without any problems. if that helps.johnny.
thanks johnnyrocker,I always delete stuff that it finds in the normal scan... just wasn't sure about in the advanced settings.:0)
Do a search for "internals" in the Spybot Help file. There's a bit of info that might help.
The only thing I ignore in Search and Destroy after a scan is the news that the Windows Firewall is disabled. This is normally the only problem it finds. It's disabled because, of course, I use ZoneAlarm.
