Spybot-S&Ds IE helper being intrusive

I haven't knowingly installed this but it is becoming intrusive, pop-up notices are now appearing telling me it has detected a URL which is a known malicious resource for sites which I regularly use (eg MSN groups).

The annoying thing is that the 'Allow' button on the pop-up is greyed out so the only option is the 'Deny' button. I've serched my Spybot S & D and can't find out how to turn these pop-ups off.

Anyone got any clues?

XP SP2, IE7, IE7 Pro, Comodo Firewall, AVG Free 7.5, AVG Anti-Spyware, Spybot S & D.

Thanks for the quick response Sea Urchin.

I followed the process through up to the point of clicking on Advanced Mode in Spybot. My Spybot refused to open in Advanced Mode, so I assume the program was corrupt. I've uninstalled it and will try reinstalling it later.

Many thanks again. I'll click as resolved.
