Spybot S&D Immunization query

I recently clicked on a prompt to download ActiveX on an ecard site, to view the card & i got a ztod downloader.

I posted a HijackThis log on a website & was told to post a MalwareBites Anti Malware log too.

The person said my host was corrupted & that remnents of virus was causing this, he gave me a fiew tools to use & said to immunize via SS&D, which i hadn't done before, apparently to stop my browser going to pages that may contain malware.

Now, some pages i used to visit, won't load up!!
Is it safe to 'undo' the immunization that i did. Apparently, there was around 3000 unprotected out of 63145 prior to my 1st immunization.

Your Hosts file should contain this as the default

# Copyright (c) 1993-1999 Microsoft Corp.
# This is a sample HOSTS file used by Microsoft TCP/IP for Windows.
# This file contains the mappings of IP addresses to host names. Each
# entry should be kept on an individual line. The IP address should
# be placed in the first column followed by the corresponding host name.
# The IP address and the host name should be separated by at least one
# space.
# Additionally, comments (such as these) may be inserted on individual
# lines or following the machine name denoted by a '#' symbol.
# For example:
# rhino.acme.com # source server
# x.acme.com # x client host localhost

Anything else was added by another programme. You could delete the rest then go back into Spybot and redo the immunisation if you wish.

i'm not very clear on this! & how i do it!
i recall using HostsXpert & SmitfraudFix during the help i got & now i have 0 unprotected in Spybot!

If i click on 'undo' in Spybot, will it erase the default?
Do i need to undo to get the pages back that won't load up?

If you search for hosts* it will display the file (make sure it searches hidden files and folders) Open the file with Notepad and delete everything except

#Copyright ......
to localhost

This will get your hosts file back to normal. It may be a case of some of your security software blocking those sites.

You can then open S&D and update and Immunise frm afresh.
