I selected 'fix' and, logged in as system admin it successfully fixes them. When i signed in just now and ran spybot again it found the saim again, so it had not fixed it.

What are they?

What do they DO?

and how do I get rid of?

This DSO Exploit is some sort of a bug in Spybot. If yoy search this site for DSO you'll see what I mean.

Should have thought to search this fourum, but the first few times i ran spybot it picked up soo much i just 'fixed it'. did not notice the same stuff had come up before..

Is there an option to 'ignore' this, or will i just have to put up with it's 'false +ve's'?

You could try this as a temporary fix, until SpyBot sorts it out. click here

No, here it is.

Sorry to gatecrash but I started a thread earlier regarding this exploit.
I followed GANDALF <|:-)>'s link and found the following.

Advice from Taffy 65.

After Spy Bot searches your hard drive and gives you a DSO error - double click on the file, and open it.

It will show you possibly several files with errors, on the far right hand side you will see a registry symbol. If you left click on it, it will take you into the registry and highlight the file in error. Right click on that file and delete it. Repeat the process to delete the other files. WARNING - only delete the highlighted file.

I tried it, the answer is so simple, and it works.

I use dsostop--see the link from Lionheart ?

That works too.

Tried DSO stop. It god rid of one of the entries. Left 4 unsolved. Followed Cook2's advise and deleted the registry entries for the other 4. (after backing it up) Now problem solved.

still don't know what a DSO exploit is thought/
