Hi, My friend is using a Windows 2000 system and he is trying to install a printer (Lexmark Z31)when he got the message'Setup has determined that the Spooler Service has stopped,In order to continue installation it must be started'.
Can someone please advise how to start the Spooler Service on Windows 2000.

Probably the same as XP in this particular instance. Run services.msc.

On a windows 2000 PC to start the spooler do the following.

1. Open a DOS window by typing CMD in the RUN command line.

2. Type at the DOS prompt NET START SPOOLER, then press the return key. It with inform you if the service is already running or if its just started.
