i have recived your sugestions,but they do not seem to apply to my ptoblem ,.This error crops up as soon as i log on.b4 i start to do anything.

Do you have a printer installed? If not you could try disabling it. It is in services. If you are using Windows 2000 there was a rollup service pack released about a year ago that had a later version of spoolsv.exe. I have come a cross situations where spoolsv kicks in and uses 99% of the CPU processing power.

Spool errors are printer errors, try re-instaling or reconecting the printer, sorry other way round.
