Speeds of RAM

I think I either have PC2700 or PC2100 RAM and would like to add another module, if this was a PC3200 module, would this still be suitable for my computer?

Ideally you should add RAM that matches that already in your computer. Mixing RAM speeds may work, and may not work - but worst of all may appear to work but give odd intermittent problemas, which are just the very worst kind to find.

So I've always recommended people to upgrade with the same specification that they already have - or upgrade all the RAM and sell off the old modules.

Safety First!!

If you want to know what you already have Everest will tell you (free) click here and lots more about your system too.

Regardless of it's stated speed, all your RAM will run at the speed of the slowest installed.
