speed touch 330 disconnection error

We are running a thomson speedtouch 330 modem on windows 98SE and you disconnect either by clicking the small screens in the task bar or via the speedtouch icon the computer brings up a blue screen and says that a fatal exception has been caused or the computer freezes. We have the same make of modem on Xp with no faults it just happens on the computer running 98SE.

Thomsons said that i need to update my dial up networking to 1.4 but this had made no difference and thomsons are clueless can anyone help as when the screen states its a fatal exception we have to reboot to reconnect to the internet.

I assume you mean the latest drivers for the speed touch modem.

Your problem was common on 98 with the old modem drivers and the update was to specifically cure this problem
