Speaker buzz

I've recently got hold of some rather good speakers- a big central bit with bass and two smaller speakers that go off from this.
I can get some good volume from them but when it comes to playing music they always seem to buzz quite a bit...
This happens on many occasions- on 'medium' music it turns the bass into a horrible buzz and even on soft music the buzz is there meaning I can't listen to it very loud.
The only music seemingly immune to this buzz is really heavy stuff which of course is not something my neighbours would appreciate me listening to at loud volume all the time...

Any idea as to how to reduce buzz? Something to do with positioning? Any little tricks?
All I've read so far has to do with grounded wires and whatnot which I really haven't a clue about and don't think I can mess with.

try clicking on Volume icon in system tray and muting the line in-

also I forget which way around but if they are powered speakers on either AC or DC - I know one of these produces a buzz
