I got two e mails , apparently from myself offering 75% off something. I treated them as spam and deleted them but did not put them on the blocked senders list. I printed from the inbox without opening them and the sender and receiver were identical. No messages were in my sent fo;der. Im on XP pro,i e 7, Commodo firewall and AVG anti virus. I did not study the message thread

Yes it's spam. Spammers can change the mail header to change the "from address" to be the same as the "to address". You didn't send it so nothing will show in Sent Mail.

FreeCell. Thanks. So if I add it to the blocked senders list , it will block the originator, not me ?

It's an increasingly common experience: see click here

But like you I still don't know what effect blocking the sender will have.
Does anuyone know?

palinka. Thanks - I have 5 potential e mails accounts.I think I will change my name to personal friends and use another for commercial use, that I will change if I get spam from it.
I will also try deleting from the ISP mail box as suggested in another thread.
