Space available on CD-ror CD-RW

How do you read how much space has been used on a CD-R/CD-RW ?
I have put 155MB of digital films on a 700M CD-RW and when I click CD rom it shows :
Free space: 0 bytes. Total size : 1.90MB.
I have windows XP.

For some reason in Windows Explorer CDs show the used file space as the total drive space. The only way I know of telling how much space is available is if the CD writing software tells you.

If I put the CD back into the CD/RW tray with a view to adding more images it will show the items already written but faded.

I find writing CD's confusing but I have read some very interesting tutorials - type Nero Tutorials in Google and there are loads in PDF format. The principles should apply even if you haven't got Nero.

click start-my computer- right click on drive letter for the cd-rw then click properties. This should give yiu a pie chart showing used and free space. Obviously you need the disc in. Meshuga.

Very many thanks for the replies , with cd-rw in the drive right click brings up pie chart and space used and unused.
