Been saying it for ages.

This is when SP2 hits the big time.

Thanks for the info. As a slow 'dial-upper' think I'll be waiting until it comes out on disc. Some of the issues already raised in this forum are already making me wary!

Ever so confusing people as "window's automatic updates" installed sp2 in my comp today? running Windows xp pro, after reading a number of thread's i am some what confused.

  lucky1 21:36 24 Aug 2004

Can anyone confirm that, if I enable Windows Update, I can get SP2 in instalments, i.e. a chunk every time I'm logged on? The 'new' Windows Update (manual) page seems to indicate that I can.

  lucky1 21:38 24 Aug 2004

.......should read 'enable automatic update'

Yes, it will download it a bit at a time as an when you are on-line then after the full download completes, it will install. j.

true! some people have got SP2 downloaded, but I think the servers have throttled full release, by tomorrow night this will have changed........

  pc moron 00:32 25 Aug 2004

More like the servers will be throttled when SP2 is available on Windows Update.

If I didn't already have it, I'd wait and get it off a computer mag (PC Advisor!) in September.
