Soundcard Problem.

Hello.I've just recently started to use my new HP TouchScreen IQ510 computer. In my old computer,I had a SoundBlaster Audigy 4 Pro soundcard which had THX and Dolby. In my new one, there's a SoundMAX Integrated Digital HD Audio soundcard but I don't believe it has either THX or Dolby. It wasn't possible to transfer the SoundBlaster to the new one.

When using the latter through my hi-fi system, the sound which were once strong and rich in tone and bases,is now substantially less rich in tone and bases and there is crackling on the speakers in between tracks.

The basis I bought this new computer was that I was promised by the shop this new one would sound better than the old when played through the hi fi system. However,I don't feel this is the case with its weak bases, not very good trebles and top-end frequencies playing back in what appears to be non-Dolby reproduction.

Can I enlist your opinions as to what might be going on please? Thank you.
