Soundcard driver help

  tobyjug472002 15:34 10 Jan 2008

Some time ago my 86 year old aunt bought an Acer Aspire T180 Desktop PC which had Vista Premium pre-installed, i cant use vista ( bit thick)anyhow at a cost of £90 she had it downgraded to XP Home. Not long after the firm that put XP on went bust.. Alas no sound. I have checked and there is no soundcard driver installed, anyone know where i might be able to download a driver from...its a Realtek soundcard (not sure of the actual 'model' or serial number, but its definately a Realtek! Any help would be welcomed.
Many thanks.

Do Acer have a website with a support section?

Ive had a search about cant seem to find anything which may help....i'll just post a warning for anyone thinking of buying the Acer T180 Desktop with states on the box that 1GB RAM Installed, which you need to run vista, what it doesn't state is that 256MB of that RAM is for your Graphics, so in effect you haven't enough RAM to run Vista Premium satisfactorily. I think that Acer should have mentioned that on the box...i'm not knocking Acer, just thought i would warn any reader thinking of purchasing the T180!!

I'd want 2Gb to run Vista myself!

I'll have a look for an Acer download for you
