can anyone help as I have just bought a Packard bell and I have been adding speakers and a microphone etc and now the sound has went high pitched and all my music sounds as if it has been remixed by the chipmonks. I have went back to a monitor sound so I don't think it is a hardware problem.

Thanks

Try it with the microphone disconnected, I`m no expert but it seems you`re getting a form of acoustic feedback

thanks for the suggestion but the sound is high pitched even with the microphone disconnected.

What packard bell computer do you have, does it have onboard sound or separate sound card? What type of speakers are you trying to connect?

Try re-loading the sound driver.
