Sound problems after PC on Stand-By

I have changed the settings for my PC under 'Power Options' which now goes into Stand-by mode after five minutes of inactivity. The problem is the sound keeps going off when the PC is brought back into operation again and the sound can only be brought back by restarting the PC.

Any ideas why it is doing this and how to fix it?

Can't be much help unless you give more info about your system..make/model/specs/OS.

Re-install sound drivers?
No `issues` like this listed among BIOS updates.
Does the sound hardware still appear in Device Manager after the machine has been brought out of standby? I mean, is it just that audio is muted, or actually disabled? Or is the effect random?

The sound card is apparently integrated into the motherboard.

I've been on the Motherboard website - Gigabyte - and have found the sound driver download for the model -7VM333M-RZ.

Should I just download this or would this cause a problem? Here is the link
