Hello again. I am having problems with the sound. When I plug the mic plug into the socket I get a constant high pitched sound similar to feedback. If I plug in the earphones plug as well then the noise goes off. All has been working well until now and I have not made any recent changes to the setup.
My system spec is Vista home premium, Intel Core T 2 Duo E6600 Dual Core Processor, 2048MB DDR2 Memory (2x1024MB), 2x320GB hard drives with plenty of space. Creative LabsSound Blaster X-Fi Xtreme Audio Sound Card.
Hope you can help

When you plug in the Headphones, they cut out whatever is transmitting, possibly the speakers.

Thanks wee eddie. Given what you said I turned down the volume on the speaker mixer and I think it may have sorted the problem. However I may be getting back to you

Answer

a direct line between the Transmitter of Sound (Speaker) and the Receiver of Sound (Microphone) when there is a possibility of a loop, of sound, being formed.
