You cannot 'delete' sound.

It might be as simple as right clicking on the 'loudspeaker' sound icon in the task bar at the bottom right to open the Volume Control and check that none of the options has 'mute' ticked.

well theres no icon & there is also the option of sound missing from her control panel.

So yes I think you can delete it as its missing !!

Try System Restore

Yeah im gonna try that but it would let me do it before cos she installs so much s**t like them im sweeties etc. Fingers crossed.

Could I install it off the disc she got with the pc?

Check from Control Panel>Sound and Audio Devices>Volume tab that the Volume has not been Muted?

The Volume icon for the Taskbar should be ticked - you can also check from the Volume icon whether any inputs/outputs have been inadvertently Muted.

Don't forget that Windows Media Player and similar also have Mute facilities.
