sounblaster Audigy problem

Hi All.

I have recently done a clean install of windows XP and my speakers don't seem to be working properly now. I have a Soundblaster Audigy card and creative 5-point speakers. Before the new installation they were working fine but now only one of the speakers is recieving any sound.

I also seem to be getting mixed messages as to whether the card is working properly. I go into Device Manager and click on my Audigy card and it says it is working properly, but when I try to run my creative demo disk it says the card hasn't been installed.

I have checked all the cables and they seem to be in the right postions.

Any help greatly appreciated.

Thanks

I too had this problem on a clean install.

In the end I disabled my on board sound chip, completely un-installed Audigy and then reinstalled after rebooting.

It cleared the problem up and it now sounds lovely.

Kinger: That is what I was thinking about doing. I will first try and install updated drivers but if it doensn't work I will try your suggestion.

Thanks.
