Sorting In Excel

I have a list of numbers like the following:-
ABC12345
EFG56789

There are about 500 all in the above format how can I sort them or highlight them so it gives me the 5th and 6th characters i.e 2 & 3 and 6 & 7? I hope you understand what I mean!! Basically any number with 23 or 67 I want highlighted red or something. Thanks.

Select your range of values. I'm assuming they start in A1. Format > Conditional Formatting. Select Formula Is and enter

=OR(MID(A1,5,2)="23",MID(A1,5,2)="67")

Click the Format button and apply yor formatting then OK.
