Sony Vaio Battery Times

I have a Sony Vaio lap-top and when I bought it some eighteen months ago the time between charges was between 2 1/2 and 3 hours. The time has now dropped to just under two hours.

As I use the lap-top for work I have used it most days and have re-charged the battery most days. I regularly discharge the battery completely, but is there anything I can do to improve the battery life (I do the obvious about power consumption - reducing the screen brightness, etc.)?

This sounds pretty normal for any laptop battery. I had a Compaq that was exactly the same and after 3 years I simply replaced the battery. If you use the laptop primarily based in the office can you run it off the mains without the battery pack installed? If, like me you use the laptop on the move, you`re doing the right things already.

Hi Taff

I was afraid that would be the answer, but thanks anyway.
