Sony N Series laptop replace hard drive

Does any one know is it possible to install a new 2.5" hard drive for a Sony N21E series laptop and successfully install the original recovery disc software (operating system and applications) that was on the original hard drive? My Sony hard drive is on its last legs (corrupted bad sectors) and keeps crashing so want to fit a replacement hard drive myself. If anyone has successfully managed this would appreciate feedback. Thanks

Before you do anything else, back up that HHD to an external media - also check for hidden partitions as you may well have the restore software hidden there. click here

The hard drive bay is not designed for this purpose. Removal and reinsertion of the hard drive may damage the hard drive connector. SONY VAIO Link does not recommend this operation, cannot offer any support on a non standard hardware configuration and any physical damage is considered out of warranty. Please contact VAIO Link for further information concerning out of warranty repairs.
