Software to translate speech to print

  bristolgirl 17:32 05 Dec 2009

I hope you can help! For Christmas, my daughter wants some software to translate what she dictates into a microphone (?) to her computer, with a view to printing it out. She is hoping that it will aid her Uni degree course.

I'm not sure what she means. Can anybody suggest anything.

Many thanks!

If you Google you will probably find cheaper, or even possibly free.

As Technotiger says - voice or speech recognition.
If your daughter uses Vista then Windows Speech Recognition is an included feature

Dragon is the best, but you only get what you pay for with the above. a lot of work as gone into the programs

Umm Perhaps this software is out of my budget range but thank you all for your help anyway!

My daughter does have Windows Vista, so maybe this might be the answer.

Thank you!

I've seen this one on Amazon

The cheapest one appears to be around the £40

Do you think that this one is the one to go for?

Many thanks again!!

Dragon is one of the best, if not *the* best!
